AI Act Article 50 now forces every conversational AI to disclose itself
Since August 2, 2026, Article 50 of the AI Act requires any AI system interacting with a natural person — chatbot, voice agent, deepfake generator — to disclose that it is AI. The obligation reaches every Cardan-AI target sector, from aerospace customer support to luxury AI concierge services.
Since August 2, 2026, Article 50 of the EU AI Act (Regulation 2024/1689) is fully applicable: any provider of an AI system intended to interact with natural persons must ensure those persons are informed they are dealing with an AI, unless this is obvious from context. The obligation extends to deployers of emotion-recognition or biometric-categorisation systems, and to any synthetic content generation (deepfake audio, video, image) which must now be labelled as such.
